Trantor Buyer Map
Nupur Thakur | Trantor | October 2026
As of 15 Oct 2026
Trantor modernizes the systems enterprises run on, runs them through Centers of Excellence, and works both sides of the security platform market.
This page maps the organizations those three paths sell into, who usually signs off at each, and where a first conversation tends to open.
Where the buyers sit
Groups drawn from the three paths on the Trantor site. A group with a clean public count shows it banded; the rest say so.
| Group | Organizations in the US | Under 20 staff | 20 to 99 | 100 to 499 | 500 or more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Software publishers, security platform makers among them | about 14,000 | about 11,000 | about 1,600 | about 640 | about 420 |
| Enterprises whose business still runs on custom code they own | no clean public count | ||||
| Hospitals held to a HIPAA standard | about 2,600 | not published | not published | not published | not published |
| Banks and consumer lenders | about 6,900 | about 3,200 | about 2,300 | about 1,100 | about 360 |
| Companies whose sales, service or commerce runs on a platform they bought | no clean public count |

Security platform companies
The Trantor site puts the limit here on how many customers a partner can get live in a quarter, and how many renew.
| Role | What they answer for | Where Trantor fits |
|---|---|---|
| VP of Professional Services | Deployment capacity and time to go live per customer | Platform Implementation |
| Chief Customer Officer | Adoption, renewal and the health of the installed base | Retention as a Service |
| VP of Customer Success | Onboarding and first-line to third-line support | Retention as a Service |
| VP of Partnerships | Delivery partners who can carry the product to customers | Platform Implementation and Product Migration |
Enterprises taking AI into production
For buyers whose pilots worked and nothing reached production, the constraint is usually the system underneath, not the model.
| Role | What they answer for | Where Trantor fits |
|---|---|---|
| Chief Information Officer | The systems the business runs on and the roadmap for them | Application Modernization and Centers of Excellence |
| Chief Technology Officer | What gets built next and how fast it ships | Product Engineering and Platform Engineering |
| VP of Engineering | Release speed, defects reaching customers, test coverage | Quality Engineering and Platform Engineering |
| Chief Data Officer | Data that can be trusted, reporting and machine learning | Data and Analytics, AI Agents and Assistants |
Security and compliance in regulated organizations
Hospitals and lenders carry an audit standard they have to meet, which makes securing what they run a separate job from building it.
| Role | What they answer for | Where Trantor fits |
|---|---|---|
| Chief Information Security Officer | The security of the cloud, the applications and the data | Security and Compliance Engineering |
| Chief Compliance Officer | Passing the audit and meeting the standard | Security and Compliance Engineering |
| VP of Information Technology | Moving off one security product onto another with the tuning intact | Product Migration |
Organizations that want one party for the long run
Centers of Excellence and Managed Services sell to a buyer who wants one party accountable for the roadmap year after year, or who has a live system and needs someone to run it.
That sign-off usually sits with the Chief Information Officer or a VP of Technology, with procurement and finance joining once the engagement model is on the table. Where the system is a bought sales, service or commerce platform, the head of revenue operations or digital experience is often the first to raise the need.
